To support the social distancing measures currently in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can now attend IRM Training courses remotely from the comfort of your home / office / home office.
The courses will still be:
- Practical
- Hands-on
- Interactive
- Run in small groups
- Run live by highly-skilled instructors with 15 to 25+ years’ experience.
Compared to the in-person training, there will be:
- Smaller instructor-to-participant ratio
- More frequent (albeit shorter) breaks
- A technical support person available all throughout each course so that:
- technical issues can be resolved more quickly
- your instructor can focus on delivering the course and answering questions related to your course only
- your training does not need to be interrupted every time someone has a technical issue

Courses will be delivered via Zoom which supports most modern computers and mobile devices (Windows, Mac, Android and iOS are supported). You can also join via Skype for Business or Lync (please check the FAQ below).
To learn more about how to use Zoom, watch the short video tutorials.
Group Exercises
For group exercises we will use Zoom’s breakout feature so that you can work in smaller groups. Similar to in-person training, you can still ask your instructor(s) questions while you are in the breakout room.
FAQ
If you cannot or prefer not to use Zoom, you can also attend the training via Skype for Business or Lync. Find out more information about it here.
You have probably heard some news about celebrities or random people crashing random Zoom meetings. All our training will have the ‘Waiting Room’ feature enabled such that anyone attempting to join will automatically be placed in the Waiting Room until an IRM Training instructor or helpdesk person admits them in. Anyone not recognised as a participant will not be let in.
As with any public training there are usually participants from other organisations. So whether the training is delivered in person or remotely, we do not expect there to be any discussions that involve any confidential / trade secret information.
As the training is interactive, everyone usually introduces themselves to one another, but if you wish you can use an alias and beyond that you do not need to disclose any information about you if you do not want to.
